  • Yeah think either a code for a QC process, or its one of their Malaysian plants or suppliers.

    On late 70's to 90's stuff you used to get 'Sgh' or something like that which mean't it was made in the Singapore plant

  • I put an 11sp Athena on a 10sp Veloce shifter+cassette, worked fine. Ymmv

  • I spoke to a BrickLaneBike rep and she told me that VIA Components are exclusively made for BLB.
    They are super nice quality with ceramic bearings at an affordable price, made from 7000 series alu too.

    Great prices for great quality, Need more of that

  • they look like a 118v7 in which case no. However, you could fit a 10 speed campag freehub then put the 11 speed campag cassette on that and use it with shimano which would probably be fine

    if they happen to be the v8 then you can fit an 11 speed shimano conversion kit

    We have provided a popular service to convert our 2012 model year wheels to become compatible with 11-speed cassettes. Those 2012 wheels are built using our 188v8 (or 188 version 8) hubs, which are those with the Beyond Black or Falcon Grey-colored hubs. Previous model 188v7 hubs (silver) have a narrow flange width and therefore the threads on the axle for the v7 hubs were placed more inboard so the clinch nut could thread up to the bearing on the non-drive side. Our 11-speed kit has the v8 axle where the threads are placed more outboard to accommodate the wider flange spacing of the 188v8 hub. If you try to use the v8 axle on a v7 hubshell, the clinch nut would run out of thread and not contact the non-drive side bearing. All model year 2013 and 2014 (with 188/v9 hub) model-year wheels are 11-speed compatible. For more information on our conversion service, visit our website.

  • Or use the Shimano 11-34 cassette assuming it's an 8/9/10 freehub rather than a 10 speed only one.

  • Interesting. I emailed sigma and they said I could use the 11spd upgrade hub for 188

    @fredtc I thought the v7 were silver only? These are black which would indicate V8 no?

    Off the top of anyone's head, do you know if a Cane Creek Db coil IL 200x50 is identical to a 200x57, save for a stroke reducing clip under the bottom out bumper? The CC website seems to suggest thats the case, but my 200x50 doesn't have a clip under the bumper, and it's definitely not 57mm stroke when bottomed out. Unless they're including the bottom out bumper, fully compressed?

    I've emailed Cane Creek but no reply.

  • Help! over tightened an fsa bb30 crank bolt and bolloxed the threads (at least on the bolt, not sure about the crank arm.

  • Clamp-on cable stop?

  • Usually happens the other way around so you’d be lucky if it was just the bolt.

  • How difficult is it usually to remove a fixed gear sprocket? Lock ring came off easy, sprocket will not budge.

    Off a new bike, only ridden 20kms.

  • Well, I only have a road bike chain whip so initially tried resting a lump of wood on the sprocket tooth at 3 o'clock and giving that a good tap. Sprocket just bit into wood.

    Then forced on the road bike chain whip (yeah, I know) and gave that as much as I dared which was a fair bit of welly, and it didn't move at all.

    tested the direction with the lock ring to make double sure before i put some force on the sprocket.

  • Bit of heat, more leverage?

  • will heat potentially de-grease the hub?

    I've ordered the right chain whip now, (Park tools one) so when that arrives I'll have another go.

  • Um, I assumed that the sprocket is threaded the same way as the lock ring, as they seem to be on the same thread on the hub.

    Is that an error?
