• glad it's not just me being insane/pedantic

might see what a quote is from a local shop to swap the hub for a single speed version using the same rim,

hub + spokes + build + cog might not be too bad

  • May as well go for a wider rim if you go down that route though. I'd offer to do it as I feel somewhat invested in the bike but I'm not local.

  • great minds,

i was sizing up something like a wide rim with a signle speed conversion - seen some pictures of these fitting 50mm tyres and it would make a great big city bruiser , but then we get into the £2-300 range (cannae build a wheel)

also seen an old radavist one where someone has had a discbrake mount added out back with cable guides, that looked fun

all of it is money tho, or more at least than just swapping a hub

torn, because geo wise this is truly very nice for me, it does feel a lot like a less beefy version of the the homer and the proportions are just right, and making a few, but costly )relative to the cost of the bike) changes would make it so spot on.

700x50 coaster brake bmx would be p sweet for flow trails and urban rambling - horrible to get up a hill, excellent to go down them

but also - 4 decked out, esotric project bikes is too much

@Mukashibanashi the bag is essential for carrying my water bottle!!! it actually needs a new stem to barspin, it clips the gusset rn

@BareNecessities i do not have the legs for that
