How is printing carbon possible?
A few methods exist, the most analogous to what people usually think about when you say "3D print" is using a fibre-loaded polymer filament instead of straight polymer. Even quite short chopped strand makes a big difference, which is why glass-filled nylon is such a popular material for injection moulded parts. There are also multi-axis CNC tape deposition machines which wind pre-preg carbon fibre tapes either onto a platen or over an armature or core.
