I've heard of the Aussie phrase relating to copulating with spiders, but any idea what this means?

I thought it pretty self-explanatory. Unless perhaps you don't know what a centipede is, but even then, the clue is in the name. The spider fucking saying is the one that makes no sense to me.

The phrase makes it sound like "we're not here to complete a long (seemingly endless) task", which I don't think is what he means. I think he means "we're not here to mess around", so was wondering if there was something else to it.
