That’s not a very Radavist™️ mindset. In all seriousness 8 speed is antiquated for the sake of being antiquated. Shimano still manufacture somewhat performance orientated 9 speed parts and consumables and probably will for a while. Unlike 8 speed which is all very low end.
And the m952 is sick anyway. Particularly in this condition:

Silver nitto and dura ace with a gun-boat grey m952 mech? Shirley a nice M900 mech would be a much better match. Although decent 8 speed cassettes are a tough find …
