For those who might be interested, the Eagle Stone sits in the Peak District just outside of Baslow. Successfully climbing it was an old ritual for local lads to prove their manhood and worthiness for marriage (which, lol, no thanks, I’ll take bachelorhood). It’s also on the Eastern Moors loop so there’s a cracking ride that goes right past it.
