  • Absolutely has to be cantis on a romanceur,

I heard if you put mini vs on Ronnie comes to your house, bundles you into a $600 handlebar bag, drops you in the middle of nutmeg country, hands bound in voile straps and gagged with a pair of jorts

  • Used jorts or freshly laundered?

  • Sorry, brake comment wasn’t aimed at what you were saying. Hate to rain on your parade but I don’t believe in wide drop bars, so that definitely won’t be happening.

If going 9sp, it has to be double really. If for some reason I decide on single ring, it’d have to be 10 or 11sp which I’m not that keen on. An M952 rear derailleur is just so sick.

Oh, I’ll be here. Here for life.

  • Kinky. Anyone have any spare minimoto’s for me?

  • The issue is that V brakes without travel adapters means flat bars.

Not if you use Cane Creeks drop bar levers. Shifting can easily be solved with (indexed) bar end or even DT shifters.

Works flawlessly on my Muddy Fox. And V-brakes are amazing. They just don't look very good.

  • I will be using index shifters anyway. I will not be using those ghastly levers on this bike. Ha.

  • I will be using index shifters anyway

    I'm out 👋

  • 😂

Could use XTR pots with a flat bar but they expensive af

  • I have a buddy with a 9 speed XT/XTR kit he just pulled from his parents garage, NOS goodness.

  • Kinky. Anyone have any spare minimoto’s for me?

Well yeah, after they didn't fit in the Hot Tubes they are just floating about.

  • If you want to sell them, PM me :) If they are the anodized silver, that is.

Purchased some like new 9 speed Dura Ace bar ends for $70 shipped, so I will definitely be going 9 speed on this now.

  • Ill be getting pictures of the XTR kit tonight, with a list of parts

  • There's such a huge shortage of Nitto parts in the U.S. right now that I was going to have to order stuff from about ten different places, if they even had stock. So, rather than doing that, it was cheaper/more efficient to just order everything I needed from Blue Lug. Shipping was $150, but no sales tax and they actually had the stuff I wanted. And everything was cheaper or significantly cheaper than buying it in the U.S. And it'll be here quicker than any U.S. retailer would ship stuff lol:

    Dura Ace headset
MKS Lambda pedals (though I will swap these with the MKS Gamma's I have on the Stumpjumper. Same pedal, but the Gamma has pins in it and the Lamda doesn't.)
    Deore 9s chain
    Nitto S65 Seatpost
Blue Lug XMC triple crankset (sick)
    Nitto 70mm Technomic Stem
Fairweather by Nitto M174AA All Road Bars
Nitto M-1B Rack aka Rivendell Mark's Rack
    Blue Lug Koma Rear Light
    Couple'a Nitto stickers
    Ultradynamico Rose/Cava tyres in 650x48

  • BL crankset is rather lovely, and not a bad price either.

  • Strong.

  • Sounds like a bunch of nice parts. Will be good to see them on the bike.

  • Well crap-screama you should start messaging me before you order stuff:

    We have in stock:
Deore chains, Lambada pedals (I prefer the always), Nitto S65 (well the SimWorks version of it), and Marks Rack...

  • OOpsy doopsy. Don't worry about that XTR stuff btw. Guy on PL sold me a mint condition long cage for $25 shipped sans jockey wheels. Pleased with that.

  • Silver nitto and dura ace with a gun-boat grey m952 mech? Shirley a nice M900 mech would be a much better match. Although decent 8 speed cassettes are a tough find …

  • That’s not a very Radavist™️ mindset. In all seriousness 8 speed is antiquated for the sake of being antiquated. Shimano still manufacture somewhat performance orientated 9 speed parts and consumables and probably will for a while. Unlike 8 speed which is all very low end.

And the m952 is sick anyway. Particularly in this condition:

  • Will you be using an avid rollamajig for extra “I know my shit” points?

  • I cant wait for this....

  • I love how ridiculous this is, man lives in LA and gets rid of his car? Outstanding. I am also quite jealous. Looking forward to seeing what you do, how really into the detail and meticulous you go, i think that's great.

don’t wanna write too much in case I change my mind entirely

    Noooooooooo i love those threads

    Crust everywhere

    No respite on here either
