Not seen this sort of thing before and a quick Google didn't rustle up a UK version - does look like a pretty ideal camping option though

Travel coffee gizmo idea - a slim canister- in sections - that slides into the void of the aeropress plunger. If you don’t want to take a grinder and beans separate and can bear pre grinding for short period (like a day or overnight ) you can weigh your doses before you go so no scales either. Then- as it happens- the void of the plunger is 200mls - allowing you to do Hoffmans 11 to 200 thing.

I’m looking for a small knock box or similar for the limited space on my counter top,
Using my stovetop, I make coffee a couple of mornings a week, but my missus is convinced the damp grounds are making the food waste bag I dump them into too wet and causing it to constantly split when emptying.
So I’m looking for a coffee grounds only alternative.
Seen these two, but wondering it there’s anything smaller? And this one

I have a barely used Cafelat one I'm not using if you want it for £10 and can collect from SW18? I am the opposite, I dump straight into the compost bin as was more convenient than having a separate box taking up space...

Hey thanks for the offer, I saw that in the Doppio coffee warehouse round the back of clapham junction, and its just a bit too big for my personal needs.

That Motta one you linked is 10cm, is that definitely too big?
I've got one of these: https://www.cafelat.co.uk/products/small-tubbi at just under 13cm and it's definitely on the small side!
It's been a while since I used a stove top, but do you need an actual knock box? Or can you just pick up any old cylindrical bit of tupperware that you can drop the grounds into?
-

I've never used a knock box for stovetop. I just flick it into the bin and if I've left it a while and it's a bit stubborn, a gentle tap of the alu thingiebob on the bin works.

I could use some tupperware, but not the prettiest, or most inviting thing to live on a counter top where space is a premium.
I've got to do some measuring for the motta one, which might work.
Was wondering if there were any smaller alternatives. -

I have the sage one and it is nice and neat, and cleans easily, am not sure you would want much smaller. Seems entirely functional, even seems to be the one Hoffman uses in most of his videos.

I'd say you're unlikely to get much smaller than 10cm, given the average portafilter is about 6cm diameter, you don't want to be forcing your customers to have a too much accuracy when swinging their portafilter!
Can definitely see the point of standard tupperware looking a bit naff on the counter top, but it's probably worth looking into things that aren't explicitly knockboxes for the stove-top.
My initial DIY thought led me to this (admittedly off-topic) creation: https://www.instructables.com/Pringle-Can-MIDI-Drums/

Thinking of selling my Wilfa Svart electric coffee grinder.
Very fast, efficient, pretty quiet with great design.
Recently moved flats and this has stayed in the box since the move (no counter top or storage place in my new place). Otherwise I would absolutely keep this. Great for home/office filter grinds.
Owned for 2 years, but hasn't been uded daily. Been using my Commandante hand grider a lot too.
Paid £135, would like £85.
LAST DROP TO £75
Collection in London Hoxton area or can post at cost!
Thanks

Anyone looking to offload their entry level hand grinder since upgrading? Want something from the £60-100 range but with a budget in the £30 range, since I'll be getting scales too. Would need posting to Bristol.
Tall order maybe, but worth a shot (or a double;)). Cheers!

I should have specified that I am a fan of the cylindrical shaped grinders, for no good reason. Maybe because the majority of the good ones are cylindrical? How irrational. I do think they look nicer on a shelf too. Thanks for the help anyway!

I’m currently enjoying a local roastery to me call Two Chimps based in Rutland. We got the green and yellow. Green definitely the favourite

Just buy a timemore c2 from AliExpress. Easily had for £40 now that the c3 has been released and better than the Rhino/hario.

Does anyone happen to have a porlex mini they want to sell me?
Edit: Or am I better off looking at Timemores?
Sorry - didn’t realise I wasn’t on the most recent page when I posted. Missed the recent relevant chat! -

Yeah that could work. Will dm

Ha, didn’t mean to come across as blunt. I just think that the c2 sits in an optimum price/performance point - which is what drove me to upgrade from my hario slim after trying my friend’s c2. I was really impressed by how much better the package was for not much more cash (only a tenner extra for a c2 if bought direct from China on AliExpress vs a new hario slim).
I see they now offer the c2 with titanium coated burr set too. Tempted to upgrade tbh, just for shits and giggles. -

No sweat! Just kidding. Are you looking at the C2 Max? I have this in my basket currently due to the number of orders and ratings.

There's a good amount of Honey codes available to bring the price down more, a single C2 comes to £46 with shipping and tax with discount
I bought a Hario Skerton Pro grinder. 100 size. It is attractive, well made, and was only c£38 delivered by Amazon Prime. Of course I had read that even the latest model was a bit old school technology, but I thought I would give it a go given its iconic status. And it matches my Hario V60. Having used it for 2 days, and been pleased with it and the coffee, I think my slightly arthritic hands will find the longer grinding time a bit of a pain.
So - a) does anyone have a link to a reliable source for a Timemore C2? I do not mind waiting for delivery. And b) I am happy to let the Hario go (£25 or something?) to someone without arthritis starting on the grinding route on a budget.
Am in East Sussex and also near a Post Office. Thanks.
