  • getting into my Tesla

  • What can I say, I like the finer things in life.

  • I have a pet security guard

  • Haha! Just a chap that I take the time to exchange pleasantries with whilst he works his mind numbing job - and is nice to me in return. Definitely not golf club!

  • This thread is all about taking thing out of context.

  • I'll probably buy a second home

  • Ten months of rental profits to fix

  • That whole thing was just a blatant beg to get into this thread, you could have taken any selection of words.

  • Ye gods you guys are tough sometimes.

  • Sometimes???

  • Wearing a pocket watch is lovely.

  • I’d like a place in Morzine/that area- one of the chaps at work bought a flat for €140k IIRC which he uses extensively and is planning on using to support his citizenship bid as he approaches retirement. Seems like a good model.

  • I like this style of posting. Cut out the middle man and just dump it straight in here. Control the narrative.

  • Surely this is more Look at this F*cking Hipster than Golf Club?

  • I like this style of posting. Cut out the middle man and just dump it straight in here. Control the narrative.

Cuts out the middle man, makes things more straightforward - what's not to like?

Also draws awful people out of the woodwork, it seems, although I'm unsure whether that's a benefit.

But, on balance, it works for me.

  • I went to a work meal in Italy last night. Very smart restaurant.

  • Was that a while back? My sister just bought something around there and was quite a bit more. Although not a box room.

  • Couple of years I think - it's a very small flat, but it gives them a French address, and it's enough for now.

  • Yes. Very glad we managed to escape.

  • I am envious, will be following you - and I'm still considering Spain, but my my Spanish is non-existent whereas my French is merely terrible.

  • Moving somewhere is quite good motivation to learn!
I like the Pyrenees, quite and open. Alps just don't suit me. But I understand the draw.

  • Anyone looked into buying land?

  • A few years ago I spent a small amount of time researching this. It seemed attractive at first blush but looking after land / woodland properly does entail real work

  • Friends of ours have a small parcel of woodland down in Kent
