My favourite part of that thread is that there is a book signed by someone called "Signature illegible". FSB set dressers aren't too bright are they?

We have a bunch of private little free libraries in our neighbourhood, they get smashed and burned periodically but people just put ‘em right back up.
Cost of doing culture I guess. -

Yeah in BCN they put up stands with free phone chargers on the streets, but within a couple of weeks I think all the cables had been snapped/ripped out.
The fail was more:
"The booth is ventilated and at its inauguration was said to be both vandal- and graffiti-proof." -

We had one by the marina when I lived on the water - most of the time it was used really well, but occasionally most of the books would get thrown into the water. We eventually found out the culprit was the local alcoholic crack-fiend. He was usually lovely, but could be a handful when on a binge.

Ha, I imagine it’s either kids or addicts doing the damage around here, though who knows, could be a deranged anti-reader.

Just stock it solely with copies of Fahrenheit 451?

Probably just give ‘em ideas.

GWB criticises wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq. I mean Ukraine.

Is there a thread for unspectacular fails?
Stuff like this. Selling a bike for 1 euro, when I assume they meant 1,000 euros.

Continental notation innit. Swap the comma and full stop in decimal place-ing things.

European countries use a period as we use a comma. So to everyone but us in the UK, it's a thousand

The unspectacular fail it seems is your own 😁

Hoisted by my own unspectacular petard!
I assumed that was the case - just seems like bad maths 🤷♂️

So would it be, for example:
€1.000,89
Then?I’ve spent enough time in France to have known this already. Shows how much attention I pay to stuff.

Those seatstays strike me as a pretty spectacular fail

That's what I thought the post was about before I read AlexD's comment to go with the pic!

Yep!
This thread is mostly for laughs but I don't know of another one for this. Eye implants that have restored limited vision to some people who had lost (or never had) it effectively bricked by the failure of the tech startup that created them. For a bonus, they're tricky to remove and make it dangerous to have MRI scans, leaving one man unable to find out for sure whether or not he has a brain tumour.
But Elon's going to make this all so simple with Neuralink, right bros?
