I don't think I shall ever have a conversation that touches on horses again without using the phrase "There's good eating on a horse". Thank you.

My mother is French. When she first visited my aunt in Southampton she was taken to the New Forest. When she was shown the ponies she said “Yes, very tasty”. She says it was a joke. We all know it wasn’t.
