  • To be honest, I wouldn't be that upset if we went down. Would be happy to play in a league where touching someone isn't always a free kick and, most importantly, we're not suffering the absolute fucking farce that is var

  • Dele Alli changed the game.

that probably justifies the insane transfer

  • To be honest, removing Gomes for anyone would have changed the game. Not the same player since Son hobbled him and (IMHO) shouldn't have started against a team as pacy as palace. Alli was much more mobile and carried/kept the ball better.

Fan giving shit to Vieira and getting battered 1000% deserved it. Anyone who thinks celebrating after staying up really doesn't understand football.

  • I really don't understand the mind set of the goading and abuse to Viera. The fan should be so happy to stay up but instead want to be a twat to viera

  • Schadenfreude.

  • Fan giving shit to Vieira and getting battered 1000% deserved it. Anyone who thinks celebrating after staying up really doesn't understand football.

You're saying it's ok for a fan to antagonise a manager on pitch during a pitch invasion?

Celebrate staying up, sure, 100% support that, but getting in someone's face is classless, like much of Everton's season.

  • You're saying it's ok for a fan to antagonise a manager on pitch during a pitch invasion?

The two sentences are unrelated to each other. Don't goad, do celebrate.

  • Ummm what? Pretty sure he's saying the opposite of that

  • Football fans goading opposition fans/players/managers? Whatever next!

  • Whatever next!

Fans/players/managers clobbering football fans seems to be what's next at the moment.

  • How about fans just stay off the fucking pitch?

I’d imagine most of us would think it’s unacceptable to run up to a player, manager or Mike Tyson in the street, shove your phone camera in their face and shout abuse at them.

This behaviour is completely unacceptable in society but so many think it’s ok inside a football stadium. Football culture makes it so difficult to actually just enjoy football.

  • How about fans just stay off the fucking pitch?

Yeah, good luck with that one.

  • One final note: I absolutely love Richarlison. Seems every fucker moans about him but if he played for your team you'd love him too.

  • Pitch invasion? Assaulting members of the opposing team? Looks like it’s time for a points deduction to me.

  • Assaulting members of the opposing team?

    *trollface.gif

I recall you calling for the same after the Forest/United game (when someone was actually quite badly assaulted)

  • Trolling? Innocent me? On the football thread, of all places? Never.

  • But yes, absolutely, from a position of no bias and definitely not as someone who lives in Sheffield, Forest should have their playoff final place stripped from them as punishment

  • Football fans goading opposition fans/players/managers? Whatever next!

Well there's having a pop from the sidelines, and there's physically confronting someone. Obviously you can see that distinction?

  • Shhh.
You want them to go up and get battered for a whole season.

  • Well there's having a pop from the sidelines, and there's physically confronting someone. Obviously you can see that distinction?

Sure, but then the next escalation was Viera upping it to physical retaliation. He was doing well just walking away with his back to the person until he flipped.

Maybe he said "Early bath for you Cantona Viera."

I'm with whoever it was above who talked about fans being on the pitch. If you can't manage to prevent that then you need the stewards around the players/staff at the end to help them get off ASAP. Nothing good rarely ever comes from such invasions/interactions.

  • Irrespective of whether Vieira is at fault or not, how on earth can Everton allow that to happen? If the opposition changing room is across the pitch, why weren't there stewards on hand to escort the Palace staff and players to it?
