Looks like a good year for stag beetles in our garden. Loads of rotting wood which they love.

... and my first Banded Demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens) of the year staring down the setting sun this evening.

Still trying to get macro setup figured out as not that satisfied comapred to what I used to get with my much more basic old Tamron/Nikon setup. Got a cheap flash that does TTL with my lens which has helped a bit, but if I ever get time I want to try making a more elaborate diffuser.
Lack of particularly exciting insects in garden at moment, though did find a dead rosechafer. Got a summer holiday in Greece coming up and hoping to have everything sorted by then.
