  • I want to get my brother a kitchen knife or 2 for his birthday.
He isn't a professional, just enjoys cooking.

Is there an alternative to ProCook for "decent" knife/knives for ~£50?

Current front runners are a 6.5" Nakiri and a 5" Utility knife (x50 range in ProCook)
Not sure if they are too similar and should maybe drop the utility in favour of a 3.5" paring knife?

I have a Nakiri (I got for free with a set I bought) and it is my go-to knife for prep work, so keen to get him one of those.
May just get him one of those but get the fanciest one I can afford?

  • If two knives:

drop the utility in favour of a 3.5" paring knife

But what you should do is:

just get him one of those but get the fanciest one I can afford

  • Cheers, whilst typing I think I changed to the 1 knife option

Next question, "best" nakiri/ utility knife for £50?
(or please tell me the tipping point on price if I am way off)
