I agree, the constant use that is.
I think its more that when people use it they wanna sound informed and polite but come across the total opposite.
It always seems like a, sorry to be crass, dumb person word to me than a misogynistic word. Especially when you see the poorer (I guess uneducated) black american women using the term it cant just be painted as sexist.

A bit like when the gammon use archaic language eg. ‘we the people’ in a bid to add weight to their frothing.

As an example, Selasi Setufe was recently awarded an MBE for services to diversity in architecture, in large part for founding the network Black Females in Architecture. Is that a sexist or uninformed use?
