Off-road Deliveroo bike

Just put an 11-46 cassette onto my bike and struggling to get it to shift into the largest ring. Rear mech is XT and it shifted fine with the 11-36 I had on there before. The chain was left long on the 11-36 as I was expecting to swap it but maybe it's not long enough?

Do I need a new chain? Is there some other trick I'm missing to make the last shift?

B screw all ok?

That I haven't checked! thanks... I tend to get b-screws set up correctly when I build a bike but then forget exactly what they're for, where they are, why I should care, etc. This time, though, it's just stupidity as I put a 40T on my Tripster last week and had to adjust the B-screw for that.

Yeah that did it... but the chain is too short. Got another one somewhere I can use

Did you race the train?

No, we were going on opposite directions but I did get a wave from the driver.

You should probably mention that you rode that gravel fixed, as it'll keep @youramericanlover happy

Doesn't everyone ride gravel fixed? I thought all those 1x bikes meant just that...

Gravel tends (sweeping generalization) to be flat or rolling, it's the ideal surface really.

Have to admit, I like that.
