Yes I wouldn’t really want to do this without a proper data sheet.. @Chopsicle RS does have branches in London so you might be able to get something today if needed..

This looks okay but hard to find details on. Looks like it has max input current of 25mA but no word on input resistance so maybe something to consider. Also would want to be sure the output is non-latching
