Worse track than Jeddah, and at least that's getting replaced.

Oh dear, doesn’t sound promising! I didn’t stay up to watch the highlights.

I've been catching up on the past few MotoGP races over the past few evenings (ITV have the full MotoGP race the Monday after the actual race which is pretty nice), and one thing those commentators are great at in comparison to the SkyF1 folks is catching someone tumbling down the timing screen.
There was all sorts of chopping and changing going on this race, Vettel & the Haas cars in the laps before the crash that wasn't picked up by the cameras nor the commentary. In a race as dull as this the fact that they managed to miss what looked to be a decent fight is amazing.
Same thing happened with Russell/Hamilton. Pretty much the entirety of their fight was missed and there were probably around 4/5 passes between them over the course of a lap or two.
Not quite as bad as that time at Monaco a few years back where we cut away from the only on-track overtake to see Stroll almost hit a barrier, but pretty damn dire.
Willing to bet that daft chicane will be removed for next year's race also. Pretty frustrating that the tracks getting dropped seem to be the decent ones, and the new additions are generally utter shite. Baku is pretty decent, was nice to see Istanbul back for a bit also. Zandvoort could be great with smaller cars I'm sure.
On the plus side, while the next race in Barcelona will likely be pretty dull, it'll be a good opportunity to see how the teams' upgrade packages are coming along. Looks like Red Bull have overtaken Ferrari, and I still can't get my head around the fact that Red Bull are now the team that are dominating in the straights and losing time in the corners.
Well that was a lot longer than I'd intended, apologies for your wasted time.

What's the dealio here? Avoided the news all day today, kept off social media as I follow the teams, got in my comfys, put the kid to bed, poured a drink, turned on All4 and the race isn't on there to stream, only quali?! I've skipped to the end of the thread to avoid spoilers but did I miss the memo that said C4 wouldn't have catchup on all the races this year? Its been over 24 hours now, right?
I'll catch up on MotoGP instead then.

you can watch a 20 minute sky hilights on youtube

Same for me here. Probably a balls-up at C4, seems to happen from time to time.

Available now on C4, seemed to lag the live stream by 24 hrs or more.
Highlights felt very short.

Good drive from Albon. Looking forward to seeing him in a better car next season fingers crossed.
Bottas bringing home the bacon again too, my respect for him just goes up and up, despite his late race slip-up.

Ta, so far so good in avoiding the result 🤞

F1 impose a delay to replays to other channels by contractual agreement for the main race.
If you go on F1.com you can find a list of how long the delay is by the territory you live in (New Zealand for example, is 14 days).

Ta!

Of course I found this out the hard way, and gave up and paid the fity quid for F1TV for the year.

C4 don't normally delay the replays. You normally just have to wait until the coverage is finished on +1 and then they put it up so you can replay or cast it.

@mmccarthy ya man Vettel on Question Time tonight
-
• #8892
Should be an interesting one for sure! Hoping it doesn't just result in "You race cars, cars bad" sort of thing though. It will be interesting to see if the impact of the around-the-globe shipping of all that stuff comes up, given that the actual F1 car consumption/emissions are a drop in the ocean compared to that.
Was actually re-watching this clip where he shot down some bullshit questions so I'm sure he can deal with the QT audience:

Vettel on Question Time tonight
Wat....why? Why would he do that to himself?

Car crash TV...
-
• #8895
He did ok but walked into the inevitable "aren't you being a hypocrite?" question to which he could only reply "yes". It was a strange booking and felt a bit awkward but luckily for him the pub landlord in the audience stole the show.

Furthering his environmental ambassador credentials for future jobs.
Fiona Bruce asked the obvious question in typical smug fashion around him being a hypocrite talking about the environment while driving for a living - he dealt with it quite well (as he should given how easy it is to prep for).
I thought he came across well, got his environmental points across & stuck the boot in a couple of times over brexit. Given a lot of the talk was about the cost of living crisis, I do question the logic of having someone worth in the hundreds of millions of dollars on there though. Probably lucky most of the audience won't have known who is is or the kind of salary he's earned.

A German appearing to criticise Brexit, surely that'll be welcomed!

Watching QT is like the most toxic TV experience achievable.

Imagine being on it as a panel member. Poor Seb...

I switched on to see why Vettel was on it, but quickly found myself swearing at what I was watching. God I hate QT!
Yeah, and the fact that it seems so artificially hyped doesn't help either.
Also, I popped the stream on 10 mins before quali yesterday and they were interviewing James Fucking Corden. Sapped any potential positive feelings I was going to have about this weekend
