• If you find out, let me know. Otto is a shit eater. He loves it. He's a connoisseur. Some turds don't get a second sniff. Some get gobbled like a toddler figuring out how to open a mars bar.

If it helps, our vet told us to stop worrying about it from a health pov. His opinion was that a regularly dewormed healthy dog had very little chance of picking anything serious up. Sure, it's best if your dog doesn't do it but what can you do?

Dog shit breath is however completely intolerable.

  • Yeah Odie loves eating shit too. These days he's not too fussed about other dog's shit, but he's always been pretty into his own, even now at 2yrs old.

@nobrows as Stonehenge says, from a health point of view, it's actually natural behaviour and it's not going to do them much harm if they're otherwise healthy. It's just properly rank!

The only strategy is to just avoid situations where Dora has the change to gobble any shit up. Which is hard as people love not picking up their Dog's shit. When Odie shits in the garden, wee call him in as soon as he's done, reward him for not eating it and then I go and clear it up.
