Pretty sure I’ve seen carbon repair places offer a refinishing service for the breaking surface on carbon rims/wheels.
I think that, when new, you are basically breaking on lacquer so it’s just a case of replacing that and you get a load more life.
Obviously it’ll depend how far gone it is now and stuff so I’d stop using it and get it seen to asap.

The braking surface on my Pro-Lite Padova disc wheel is locally wearing away. Is this a problem? The brake pad is now, I guess, bearing straight down on the carbon layup.
Is this a problem?
