Surely this is more 19th hole chat?

It's quite common for British pensioners in their 60s/70s to employ retired French public servants in their 50s as guardiens. You provide a little house on your property and a small stipend in return for light gardening / housekeeping / swimming pool duties. Works well for both parties.

Even more than mocking people for not being business owners and taking a pack lunch to work.
