Eclat pedals

  • I’m considering buying some eclat bmx pedals for my surly steamroller. I’m
a bit overwhelmed by the choices. The newest model, the centric seems to off the list because they are very close to the crank arms. Which model do you recommend?

  • They don’t seem too much close to the crank arm than the Nukeproofs I have on a couple bikes.

Nukeproofs are sealed cartridge bearings, bmx ones won’t tend to be.

  • I've got some of the AK pedals, which I think are now the Seekers. Not massively close to the cranks arm but a solid bearing/bushing setup.

  • In my limited bmx experience as a yoot, bmx pedals are ace but usually considered disposable(as above they’re rarely sealed) so fine but maybe not for a super fancy build.
That said I use dmr v6 plastics on all my bikes and they’re fine..

  • The large bearings in V8s have generally outlasted tiny cartridge bearings in other bmx pedals I've had. They get rattly quite quickly though.
