616 Fabrication Muenzie Fat Bike

Super stoked to finally get my hands on my new groupset. It's an Acros A-ge 1x11 hydraulic groupset. It was only sold for a short amount of time and I don't think many were sold. Weight without hydraulic fluids is 305 grams.

Never heard of them before, I'll be interested top know how well it works, does it have a clutch?

According to bikerumor: "It also gets a elastomer damping system inside the pulley cage pivot to keep the chain from bouncing. Not exactly a clutch, but same idea. The wound spring that’s visible here is the tension spring."

Shame that Acros couldn’t make this work commercially*, it looks neat. Seems like the cost was something like $2300 about 10 years ago for the 2x11 setup. Front derailleur currently available on Amazon for $1511.99

Stil haven't gotten round to fitting the Acros groupset unfortunately. I did manage to setup the new wheels tubeless. It required a huge compressor and a lot of vaseline, but in the end I got it done. I used fatty stripper tape on one wheel and Stans Tesa tape on the other, to see which will work best.

I also added a bike to my stable. At the moment I only use it to bring the kids to school, but I am hoping to do some bigger tours on it in spring / summer.

Decided to upgrade some of the parts on the bike. For that purpose I bought a donor bike. Thinking of using the groupset and the headset.

Well jealous, would love a big dummy. Great colour too. Bloke round my way has one that he has e-biked up, looks amazing.

Over the last month I made quite a few changes to the Surly.

Tires: tubeless Hutchinson Python tires.
Crankset: XTR 970
Headset: Chris King
Seatpost: Thomson
Front rack: Old Man Mountain with Witslingers bags
Seat post clamp: Salsa

I still need to fit the shifters and derailleurs from the GT.

Also thinking of bying a Discord Creemee stem in silver.

New wheel day. Bring on the snow! Also fitted a Thomson post, to see how the bike would look with more silver. Not really feeling it though.

Where I live we don’t get much snow. But I plan on taking it with me on a ski trip in March.

First ride with the new wheels/tires yesterday was a blast. Grip is superb and so is comfort.

Yes, sorry i meant what are they like in use?

They feel unlike anything I have tried so far on this bike. Which is saying something, because this is already my fourth handlebar so far (before MCFK, Jones H-Bar carbon, Groovy Luv Handles).

The angles feel very similar to the Luv Handles, which is great because I really liked those. They are much wider than anything I have used so far though. Combined with the 'riser' bit, they have a pretty big impact on the handling of the bike. Not sure yet if it is an improvement.

First time for me on a 'funpark' style track. Scary as hell, but after three runs I started to get to get the hang of it.

Went camping with my kid. I was able to pack everything I needed and then some. Love this bike!
