He had two good years as a GC rider. It’s better than just luck but it’s hardly like he had a palmarès as long as your arm for that sort of race. It’s a bit like van Avermaet; a good career with a couple of exceptional years rather than an exceptional career with some bad years (sort of Froome’s current form if we ignore the life threatening crash)
Sorry, but that’s rubbish. He was expected to win more GTs and would start them as a favourite, based on his consistent podium finishes in previous ones.
