Meant to replay to this yesterday but got sidetracked sorry. In my experience laying porcelain tiles in a garden needs to be done well with a uniform fall otherwise it will look shit after a couple of months as water will pool and dirt will collect there and it will stand out like a sore thumb against the tiles. In order to do it well the earth needs to be graded well, then compacted well, same goes for the type 1 and the slab needs to be poured to fairly fine tolerances, all of which takes experience. I'm not saying that you couldn't do it but it is hard to get right.
@ColinTheBald does landscaping for a living and could probably give you a better idea of what you need to do to do a proper job.
I’m looking to install a patio in our garden, and want to lay a concrete slab for porcelain tiles to go down on. Approximately 15sqm and will need full levelling with a sub base. Anyone had much experience with costs of something like this? Looking at whether we get someone in or break our backs and DIY.
