  • Seems like it might be vanguard?

    Yep

  • Could try h&l as well.

  • Rip RSUs 😰

  • Access to funds as well as individual stocks would be good. Seems like it might be vanguard

IIRC you can't buy single stocks through Vanguard, only their funds.

  • I use iweb, which isn't the most glitzy but is cheap.

  • I'm with Hargreaves Lansdown, I think there are cheaper options but their portal UI and customer service are excellent.

  • Solid investment advice too

Dunno. Smells a bit like timing the market.

  • Has the definition of laddering changed suddenly? How do you ladder in an asset class that doesn't have maturities as a price factor?

  • Also - crypto coins in the investment thread. Lol.

  • In the office for the first time in a while... lot of quiet, deep slouching with chins tucked in to fully zipped gilets.

  • It's pretty reasonable to buy a small percentage in case it takes off. Same strategy as an all-world tracker. Global stock market is $100t, crypto is $1t, ∴ it should be in the ballpark of ~1%.

  • I thought it was mainly chinless wonders in your field?

  • I've been with Vanguard for a few months. My first experience of Stocks and Shares ISA. First few months things have gone down a fair bit but not sure how worried I should be?

  • Timeframe should be a few decades rather than a few months so no particular cause for concern at present.

    (Is my view).

  • BUCKLE UP BUCKOS

  • I've put money in every month as usual and I'm still 5% down from the start of the year. Boooo.

  • How do you ladder in an asset class that doesn't have maturities as a price factor?

Just like a short ladder attack ;-)

  • If your portfolio isn't looking like the Patagonia logo at 'n' you're doing it wrong.

  • Assuming you have a long term horizon, that is good news as you can now buy more cheaply than you could last week.
The only price that matters is on the day you retire (or sell out to something less risky, etc). Hard to do but best to ignore!

  • Vanguard is a real pain at the moment, I am not able to pay in properly. I tried with a small amount and £200 went through but with £1000 it fails and does not show up an an attempted transfer at the HSBC side so they can't help.
Then these pending transfers hang around for days and can't be cancelled.
