New narrow baby/toddler seat literally transformed my bike to chilled family tourer.

What don't you like about ursus?
I've got one on mine and I can easily sit on the bike with it on the stand and it doesn't move an inch when loading -

That looks great and just what I need - what’s it called?

It's a Melia toddler seat as seen on Gewürtz’s bike a few pages back.
Came from Hollandbikeshop but note the mountings you see in the videos don’t come with it. Mine is held on with Thule straps.

Great, thanks.

Meh. Mines six months old and one leg has developed a wobble and it isn't particularly solid. It's ok, but I also ride a bullit and the kickstand on that is rock solid.

A 6k bike that in some parts of London is inexplicably required to carry a toddler and a Kånken mini.
-

I just found that when there was weight on the front it would be a little unstable and the bike would tip over fairly easily

I can't remember if I asked this before, but how are people removing and fitting headsets on Omniums? Knocking out with long tube, then hammer and block to refit?
-
• #9342
Exactly.
-
• #9343
I used a regular headset removal tool, park tool RT-1 for example and a length of metal rod to reach it with the hammer

I have quite severe speed wobble when my Omnium mini is loaded. Any suggestions on how to stop or at least minimise it?
-
• #9345
I'm actually about to try a Cane Creek Viscoset on my Omnium (full size) just to stop it feeling quite so twitchy. Hoping it will smooth things out a bit.
-
• #9346
Are you able to adjust the leverage of the steering rod by bolting it to one of the other holes at the bottom of the steerer tube? I think there are three.
-
• #9347
I don't want to dramatically change the feel. Hopefully the Viscoset will will add a bit of 'weight' but keep everything smooth.
I need a new headset anyway, so it seems the perfect time to try it. -
• #9348
Wouldn’t the viscoset work better in the front headtube? Stop the wobble ‘at the source’ rather than try and deal with it once it’s already established?
Or am I missing something that means that’s not possible?
-
• #9349
It would definitely be the better location, but omnom forks are threaded.
Even on the rear steerer it should have an effect though. -

Ah ok.
That’s all I need, thanks :)
