I'm sorry but what a time to be alive etc
ikr? Such a weird place for politics. Essentially bickering over whether an MP who has broken the law should resign or not. It shouldn't even be a debate.

And Angela Rayner too, also at the party

Even if it is in a very limited and specific way? ;)

All these people calling for resignations just because someone ate some cake once. Honestly, it just seems so overblown. I too have eaten cake.

Shouty entitled angry mum gets driving ban:

If I was Starmer and I got caught breaking the law I'd say I'll resign if Boris does, the PM has set the example, etc.
Unfortunately he would probably tank in the polls if he did it because Labour are held to a higher standard than the Tories.

'Ms Hebditch challenged the driving ban as it would mean Speid could no longer shop for her mother, who has multiple sclerosis, drive to work, or drop off her son at school or football.'
I wonder if she is considering a cargo bike for her 12-month ban?

12 months. What a joke.

What a creepy picture. Also, looks like he's been photographed in his office which appears to show he's teaching at a school or college. I wouldn't want my (hypothetical) kids anywhere near.

European carbon bike production:

Not sure who that is, but as SF is looking to come first...bigger FLEGS are needed ;)
-
• #72638
More flegs- that’s the solution!😂😂
Border poll seems to be talked about too much at the moment. I would expect a bigger turnout of that than for these elections and, apparently, it can’t happen at the mo. No doubt, moves will be made to try and organise it.
We’re doomed! To quote Dads Army.
Can this country actually get any worse??? -

It’s better than it was but I have worries that the brown stuff will hit the spinny thing - hopefully not to the extent of the 70s and 80s or Drumcree 1 or 2. Drumcree probably gives a better insight into what could happen than the shootings and bombings of the 70s and. 80s.

It’s a great thing SF winning widely, another small step to a united Ireland. The brexit bonus.

Your opinion and not necessarily mine. It does strike me as peculiar that some people show support/vote for convicted terrorists. And it has always amazed me that these people are elected to government.
Oddly, I was brought up not to support violence or terrorism which seems to make me a dinosaur. I have tried to instill my values into my daughter but she seems to be getting more polarised in her views and I have no idea why or where she gets her information.
It’s a sad situation but then Norn Iron is a sad place. -

A lot of people supported and voted for Mandela
-
• #72644
Fair point. I don’t know much about the level of terrorism or death in SA. I presume it was similar to here with police and army targeted daily and bombs going off killing and maiming innocents. Pubs getting blown up. People dying and losing limbs. Fire bombs burning people to death. People walking into bars and shooting indiscriminately. I’m not taking sides in the conflict but I do disagree with the death and destruction which accompanies a conflict.

Not many parties in the entire UK not tainted with blood.
Northern Ireland will always remain sad as long as it’s part of the UK, the only long term solution is for a united, European facing ireland, assisted by the welcome demise of the Catholic church. YMMV -

Few things depress me more than the politics of NI - but loud pronouncements about the NI situation from the totally ignorant - yeah, they come close.
-
• #72648
That's a surprisingly insightful article. Would be awesome to see a European bike industry flourish post pandemic.

I last visited family in Dublin three years ago and it was really surprising how many of them had turned their backs on the church, and not just the youngsters either.

A loud pronouncement? Give over, it’s just a post on a forum.
Any one who thinks that the territorial and political status quo for the last 100 and a bit years is staying put is the ignorant one, ymmv. You can moan about that one too ;)
