  • a lot of work. but will be good for the next 15-20 years, i guess.

will have to replace the foam of my kirksaeter monitor 101 next...

  • Instagram keeps showing me this account and I like it https://www.instagram.com/p/CcjC3sGpnzd/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

  • You'd probably like the 'My Analog Journal' YouTube channel, as it normally features people dj'ing with a ton of plants in the background. None more so than this one I think

  • My okay living room setup became a bit useless, because someone started to WFH all the time.
Plus I wanted good music when working myself. So I read a lot of stuff and went to listen to those and took them home.
    Quite happy.

  • Atc scm7.
I only had old, not that small, Bose 2 way monitors without subwoofer for a long time. And while they lacked in every department, I liked what they did in small rooms.
So felt like closed speakers would work for me.
Will probably end up with a pile of black boxes to try them with.
Even my wife agrees that they sound better than the b&w 601s they replace!

  • Love ATC aesthetics. Never heard any. But I’d buy them on looks and reviews alone 😅

  • I've been wanting to hear some ATC for a long time. They look great.

  • Looks were the main decider to go and have a listen to be honest.
They sounded great with sound over Bluetooth and a small smsl amp, so I was confident they would be even better with a nicer amp.
Also rather good value at half retail, and with those funny absorbers and cables for not much more money.
Have a linn majik 1 for now, but want to find a heed obelisk si3.
One has to be careful to not fall into one more nerd hole though.

  • I've not been hifi shopping for a long time. ATC is one of the only manufacturers that might have me fall off the wagon though.

  • Anyone have a Chromecast audio they want to get rid of? Else I am off to the eBay wolves. Thanks

  • Whilst we talk 3 letter acronyms...

I was lucky enough to demo these PMC speakers the other week. (woefully out of my price range I may add). Paired with top-end mono blocked Macintosh amps they sounded really good, but my ears really can't justify that kind of money.

  • I've had PMC's for quite about 15 years now. 3 different sets. Those are also out of my price range and too big for any room I could put them in!

Surprised they were paired with Macintosh. Usually it's Hypex Class D or Bryston.

  • Gosh those are hideous.

  • Just showed this to Mrs. Dogs and she said "you can tell a bloke lives there".

  • I just can't imagine having 65 grand to spend on a pair of speakers and buying something so ugly. Really doesn't matter how good they sound when they're that ugly IMO.

  • I heard their much bigger brother at a show.. just sounded like a studio monitor.. a rather flat ‘warts and all’ sound.

  • Anyone own/owned a pair of Klipsch Heresy’s?

  • Agreed. The woofer protector is particularly bad, more professional use than domestic but I think that might be PMC's heritage.

  • Ah, yes, I saw them listed under the home section of PMCs site, but looks like they make a studio and home version that both look almost identical. Either way, the only PMC series I'd consider for a house based on aesthetics alone - which are really important IMO - would be the Twenty5.

  • The name ‘Professional Monitor Company’ is a dead giveaway

  • I thought it was Potential Man Candy.

  • Pumpin' Mad Choons

  • Proper Monolithic Construction
