That wouldn’t bother me personally, it’s in an innocuous place. Even if it got worse you would be able to notice it, it’s unlikely just to give way. Even if it did there will be a tube inside the frame and a clamp around it all holding it all together.

Is it safe though?
You won't worry about getting it repaired?

New as in brand new? What does the shop say?

I would be more worried about clamping carbon top tube into work stand

No, it was bought second hand.

It's not clamped tight, more just balancing.

What do you anticipate happening? I don’t personally think it is unsafe. I can’t see anything really happening from this personally. Be interested to see what could happen though, if there is anything that could happen.

Negotiate with seller because it is damaged ultimately. I've repaired a few like this, occasionally i have fully bridged the original slot and moved the compression slot to the front. Its good news if its not full depth to a degree but the crack may creep over time.

How much would it cost to repair should it worsen?
Hi all,
Just bought a new bike and was so excited to receive it.
However it has arrived with a hairline fracture just below the seat clamp.
I know nothing about this but there is no sign of the crack on the inside of the seat tube.
I’ve tried to attach photos.
What do you think?
Thanks in advance.
