I have seen yoof wearing pajama pants as a fashion statement, so maybe the slippers are the next step

A friend of mine once accidentally wore a hat as a sock. He didn't realise until he got to work. I don't know if that or intentionally wearing slippers out of the house is worse.

This Morning addressed PJs on the school run back in 2018. Fashion propagated from there/lock down/wfh?

Hey, Arthur Dent got pretty far in his dressing gown...
At first I was like, he's at the pub, lol

It makes me wonder why is cyclists as a group are susceptible to these people, lfgss has had two notable ones where we bought into people who fabricated so much of their story.

It's the same in most communities both online and off. I've met some really strange people in the past; they're rarely malicious (although I've met some who definitely crossed that line) but often I think it starts with an urge to be accepted and a part of something and if you don't have to prove anything, for some people the lie is easy.

I have my suspicions about hatbeard too

But we haven’t had to organise a funeral or moser zimmerframe for him… yet!

Before my time, thought people liked the guy?

He was a lovely lovely fellow. But most of his stories were lies and fabrications. He claimed to have been qualified as an architect in Paris but some old friends confirmed he had not. In fact he had been a cowboy builder and had multiple cases against him for bad building/architectural work and declared bankrupt a few times. Lied about his age, lied about owning where he lived. He claimed his wife had died of natural causes though there was great suspicion about her death and a police investigation.
However to people on here he was a charming generous fellow and many of us loved him dearly.

What's the story with 50/14?
Edit. See you've replied above

Our Tokyo office had an art competition. Someone made a hat and gloves for their cat. From cat hair.

Bloody hell. Had no idea. Thought he appeared from nowhere and got a bit of a new lease of life with new friends from here. Bit sad to hear the above tbh, even though I never met the guy.

I saw a girl walk out her place to go to work wearing fluffy slippers. Thats just a plain wtf.
Was her outfit otherwise office normal? Could simply be doing the U.S. commuter thing where people wear comfortable shoes (e.g. trainers) on the commute and switch to formal shoes as they get to the office.

It was sad he had to tell so many lies but he died happy and had been surrounded by friends in the days leading up to his death. It was a shock after his death when we were trying to organise his affairs to find all this out. We kept it quiet at the time because it might have soured the good will he had generated. It’s now water well gone under the bridge.

Are you suggesting hugman should have stalked her to discover if she changed to office appropriate footwear?

Oh wow I didn't know that, bizarre

Good you kept it on the DL, the right thing to do. One should be careful when judging others, esp passed ones. It is what it is. Seems like he brought a lot of joy and love to our little community so let’s remember him for that.

Agree. He doesn't have the legs of a committed amateur; never mind an ex-Pro.
Doughy AF.
I doubt Nick Clark would have got away with it for very long in Europe. For a start, his legs look wrong. A 44 year old former pro with recent KOMs doesn't have legs like this https://cdn-ctstaging.pressidium.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Nick-Clark.jpg And his palmares and team history are easy to check out. Silly gullible Americans.
I like the fake team jerseys though...I'd definitely buy one if it popped up on ebay.
