some good TR7 knowledge up thread fellas. cheers guys. been watching Toby Jones roll around in a yellow one in the Detectorists recently. so that peculiar Triumph been on my mind.

Does the decal on the front of the detectorists TR7 mean anything or is it an urban myth it was a sign of a V8 under the bonnet?
-
• #70808
Urban myth, was just what was fitted in the late 70's. Genuine factory v8 were label as TR8.

Yep, they are regarded as quite fun road cars, mine has been plagued with minor issues (because rally car) but i'm reaching the end of fixing that stuff now.

I’m in Ealing and need my wheels refurbed soon. You using the place up in Hanwell or someone else?
-
• #70811
Would be good to know where Ealing car people get their MOTs done.

Loads of dealerships around Brentford / Chiswick. Are none of them suitable? Or are you worried about the sucking of teeth and then a request to lock and load the moneygun?
-
• #70813
Yeah there's lots of choice, that's partly the problem.
I've used this place for servicing will probably hit them up for MOT unless there's a place that's the go-to. https://autoworkshop.com/mot-test-centre/
Getting down the alley to their workshop is slightly stressful though!

No, it was standard for all cars built at Canley.
Early cars made in the Speke factory had “TR7” decals there, while the late Solihull-built models had small enamel badges. -

I got them done here:

Not sure if they have a website, but they've done a Golf and Focus set for me in the past and I've been happy - £250 a set (more if they're buckled or need machining).
Can post pictures of these when they're back if you like?

Cheers, that’s the one I was thinking of. Yeah pics would be good. Unfortunately I have diamond cut wheels so will cost a bit more.

Is anyone able to recommend a garage in Edinburgh for a service + MOT?

• #70818
Saw this yesterday parked up, wondering if it’s a real Stratos, either way was beautiful

Everything Gandini touched is gold.
The fact Bertone went bust proves that business has nothing to do with style.

looks legit as looks like this one here

half a mill and could be yours

Looks like a slightly photoshopped Lamborghini Urraco - the wheels don’t look right (too big)
(And I see I was too late …)

I get mine done at West4Autos in Chiswick, it gets it at the same time as an annual service . VAG specialists, but they've been doing my Focus for years.
I'd recommend them, they're a good garage in my experience.

Thank you!
-
• #70824
Was that when the cars were made in several places?
-
• #70825
Yes. BL shut Speke in the 70s and Canley in the 80s but kept the model alive for a bit longer
A Lamborghini Urraco. That has been ruined by a computer.
