Obviously a thing for you, seems like a reasonable thing for anybody who has gone at or above threshold. If I had to guess, I'd suspect vagus nerve bandwidth/crosstalk issues, since that has effects on both digestive peristalsis and heart rate. Give yourself a few minutes recovery after a substantial effort before trying to consume anything.
If I eat or drink immediately at the top of a climb my heart rate surges/I have problems breathing/slight panic attack.. is this a thing?
