I would get something you like the look of then slice it down to the depth you want.

To be fair it often looks feels like the choice is either one or the other, not much of interest in the middle ground.
Montana makes a wall-mounted one that's nice but I'll need 2 at least and then it's $$$...

Won this shelf on a blind bid on a local auction. Poul Cadovious? Picking it up tomorrow.

I need advice on something very negligible. Do wooden tabletops and white legs work?
Our new apartment is fairly bright (bright wooden floor, all white open kitchen) and we want the Hay Loop legs with an oak tabletop as a dining table.
We're trying to keep the white, wooden colour scheme so white legs would be the first choice. But black legs on wooden tables look so much better. Help!! -

It might be a bit much IMHO, you need some contrast (I have them in black on oak /black lino top, white walls, light wooden floor).

it might be but probably isn’t. i have a similar unit, it’s Danish but not Cado if it has screws in the brass shelf stays rather than hooks it definitely isn’t.
I bought mine online from Denmark before the prices went nutty (along with a Johannes Andresen and Henning Kjærnulf table) -

That's what I'm afraid of, but I can also imagine the oak or acacia tabletop providing enough contrast. And black legs seem a bit random as we don't have anything else that matches.
But what do I know. It's the first time I have to consider these kind of stuff -

We have a green milk painted ply top over Ikea white legs. We have 2 red Emeco chairs and a couple of walnut Dot stools. Our floor is yellow and grey checker board and most of our kitchen is age old cheap pine panelling.

Cool. Quite sure it's a Cado now that i've picked it up. Has many of the hallmarks (incl. hooked shelf stays). But then clones were made. Also included was a neat matching magazine shelf. Paid ~£150 incl comissions. Will give it some love and then see if i mount it or sell on.

On the subject of Poul Cadovious I have a large quantity of abstracta modular shelving that needs a new home.
Any interest here? Or any advice about where to list it? Doesn't come up often and pamono/1st dibs etc are joke valuations

Potentially interested - depending on size/materials (eg less keen on glass shelves)

I think white legs will look just fine

I don't think there's many in the UK, but Jysk is a useful mini IKEA alternative. I'm also enjoying their instructions where a sad looking man in an ill fitting suit attempts furniture construction.

Yeah, we have them out here in Canader, definitely not as well designed as much of the IKEA stuff, but there’s the odd pearl in there.

White legs go very well on wooden tops :)

Nice. Are those the legs you originally mentioned?

Yup, the Hay Loop Stands. Like them a lot!
Nope - not really - either pay a joiner - or get over yourself . …… is my motto
