Would i save much with an aftermarket Bezel and labour? Second hand prices look around £350 i do like the bracelet on this especially as I've been struggling with fit on my large link bracelets

I'd suggest a 007/009.
The lug length is the same as the 013 and if you want any further mods they'll be a lot easier than trying to find mods for a 013.
The 013 is nice tho. Just has a more upright appearance, whereas the 007/9 seems a bit flatter.
I know the OP said they don't want 42mm, but the short lugs make it seem smaller.
Also as mods go, a bezel insert swap is not a hard one to do. So I think diy is very achievable.

Thanks both for the Squale recommendations. I could push to 40mm. Thanks for the link 👍 good prices and uk shipping. All the others I'd found were C24 and eBay US listings.
