Out of curiosity, how do you know this?
Also, weren't sniper rifles smallish calibre back then? 7.62mm-ish
Edit: Can confirm that the idea that a large calibre round near miss can hurt you is an urban legend. Or at least the various YouTube videos debunking it confirms it.
No way was it hit by a bullet, that close to the face the shockwave would do some serious damage especially at sniper caliber. More likely a close shot and the shockwave knocked the fag out
