    I agree with this. I think houses are slightly different because while they are status, they're also the place where the people you love live. And when you can only afford a dangerous, shabby, or unpleasant place to live, that makes you feel like you're letting your loved ones down.

    Not being able to afford a fancy watch might be annoying but it doesn't have that same emotive quality.
