First the Rapha watch and now this! .. I came to the watches thread to try to forget cycling.

I couldn’t contain the curiosity anymore… I contacted the boutique in London to ask what’s the best way to try the SBGP003. They got back to me basically saying “buy it and see”. So, I did. It’s shiny AF, but looks so good. Very slim, slightly too big for me (interestingly), but the indices catch the light in the most beautiful way. Even indoors it just looks so good.
I’m pretty sure it’s going back, but daaaamn…

This is 4th hand info (I think).
My mate up North who is a shop manager at a premium watch retailer, is friends with a manager at a northern Swatch shop, says a manager of one of the London Swatch shops said that they are currently receiving weekly drops, but not on regular days. They are not advertising which day and when pushed will not say which day because they do not want people queueing.
The only way to get reliable info is to ring up every day and ask if they have them in stock and if they do, get there ASAP.
I am confident in this info as my friend currently has 3 of them.

Well, I'd say its a perfect fit. A grand seiko deployant/buckle and its perfect..

?? Big?? Doesnt look big. Never tried on a grand seiko, or saw one up close even, curious to see them in real life.. saw this one on instagram earlier and i love it.

I had the 37mm SBGx261 before and that was perfect. Maybe it’s not too big, I just would prefer it a bit smaller, I guess. I’m trying to be picky, so I can return it and forget it as if I was to keep it I’d need to sell a watch. And I don’t really have one I want to part with 😵💫 trying to live a normal life in these crazy times.

I generally think 40mm for a time-only watch without a "functional" bezel (e.g. diver, 24h, tachymeter) looks too big. It's perfectly wearable, sure, it just looks too big, at least for me personally. That was my feeling with the 39mm OP.
Beautiful watch, still.

Those are lovely and wear really nicely. They wear very slim, they are thin at the sides and curve gently up - obviously designed to fit under a cuff. Again, visually slightly larger than a trad dress watch at 38.5mm, but for a lot of people nowadays I think it's a great size.
Also hand-wound spring drive, which is a rarity.

Popped in to Swatch Oxford st yesterday. We were told similar. They have a deliver once a week between Monday and Friday, they don't get told which day or how any. The queues start around 7am every morning though! They hadn't had this weeks delivery by end of day yesterday.

I'm on the stock alert already but I'm very happy with it so far on the buckle. Thanks for this

I am really liking this JLC (to balance out the GS chat)

Is very nice. But I am not sure why there's lume in the hands or lume dots. Just not required.

HYPEISTS!?

But I am not sure why there's lume in the hands or lume dots. Just not required.
Huh? The JLC?
maybe the pips are extra sure, but a touch of lume on the hands shouldn't detract from it. Fact is, a little lume for me is desirable. Even on a dress watch. Doesn't need to last the night, or even hours, but a dress watch by its nature will be worn at night. Maybe mostly in the light but still, there will be moments...

You may have just created a marketing tagline for a microbrand watch company

Away in Cardiff for a conference and they've got loads of watch shops here. I saw this model yesterday actually. Happy to try and get some snaps if they let me out at any point!

Yeah must be like working in a Rolex boutique 🤣
@Nurseholliday Thanks! Will bear this in mind.

The Synchron certainly looks more appealing for the money and their website makes it clear they are in no way affiliated or associated with Doxa. Watch beef going on

Rare to see replication on such a level.

Another pink watch caught my eye.. I’d be interested in seeing this in the flesh.

Until they have manufactured enough to flood the website with them. Then the staff in the store might stop hearing moonswatch in their sleep.
