Cheers, but very pricey.
Would either of these fit? Two different mudguards. Sizing is minefield.
I'm guessing 2.0 on my tyre is 2" which is just over 50mm, or have I misunderstood the 2.0?

Theoretically correct, but tyre sizes are estimates. Measure the tyre you have on the rim you have.

They currently use a massive countertop filter thing, that is a complete PITA. I suggested just installing an inline filter, but for some reason they’re after one of those daft ionisers.
FIL is a proud user of homeopathic medicine, to give some context of what I’m up against. -

If homeopathy was real you'd get more pissed off of low-alcohol beer.

And no alcohol beer would be deadly.

Your question about water ionisers definitely triggered my bullshit-ometer, and indeed Wikipedia states...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_ionizer
Such claims violate basic principles of chemistry and physiology. There is no medical evidence for any health benefits of alkaline water.[3][4] Extensive scientific evidence has completely debunked these claims.
But I'm neither a molecular chemist nor a medical (or any other kind of) doctor, so what do I know. Sounds like a pile of shit to me though!

I need to buy a couple of power adaptors for small electrical items. Anyone know where I can get something that definitely isn't fake certified and won't burn my house down?

http://www.rswww.com or Screwfix/Toolstation if they stock what you want. Just avoid Amazon and eBay

For low voltage DC from a 240V AC input? This should do 🙂

They're worth it. Anyway, as a rule of thumb you want at least 5mm and ideally 10 mm extra width for your mudguards, so for a tyre that is about 50mm wide you're looking at 55 to 60mm mudguards. You can probably make the 53mm SKS works, but they're not ideal.

Didn't think to check Screwfix, thanks for suggestions

One for the vehicle electrics experts. I've got a Renault Trafic, and in the interior wall panel in the boot space there's a hole which looks about the size of a 12v socket, but with nothing in. Taking the panel off reveals a few connectors, but I don't know what any of them are. Does anyone recognise any of these, or know what they could connect to? Thanks

Pretty impossible to tell unless someone has an intimate knowledge of that particular vehicle.
Best you can do is cross reference the wire colours against a Haynes manual or official service documents.

impossible to tell
That's not the spirit. Have a guess!
How about wiring for the optional sliding door? That should be in about that location to meet the chain trunking which joins the door loom to the main body. -
• #112391
One of em could be for towbar/trailer wiring loom, or not.

Some caliper brakes (e.g. Shimano) say they have up to 57mm drop. Tektro say their mid reach brakes have up to 59mm drop.
Is this a typo, a quirk of measurement à la Deda handlebars being quoted as 31.7mm diameter, or are the tektros actually 2mm longer?
-
• #112395
@eskay @gbj_tester @jontea thanks all, I think that even in 2022 with The Internet, the
Haynes manual
is a great idea for general upkeep and fixing/working out stuff like this.

Is this a typo, a quirk of measurement
It could be, but brake drop can be any arbitrary value a designer decides to make it, not a standardised dimension which has to fit other parts. If Tektro say 49-59, it's most likely because they mean it, and they're not under any pressure or obligation to replicate the 47-57 of Shimano mid-reach models.

Glad you think so. I agree, and find it logical, but this is bikes so one never knows when illogical stuff is going to pop up.

Last time I went through T5 (2 months ago) it was ~10 minutes from walking away from the bag drop to having gone through security (and I had hand luggage including a laptop).
From there it would have been no more than 10 minutes to get to the furthest gate I guess.

Pot luck right now. You may get there on a day half the staff are off with covid or it may be fine
Berthoud make a 65ob x 60mm.
