Depending how lucky you are, or unlucky, you may never be able to use a non-safety bar squat bar again.
I can't front or back squat with any real weight because my shoulder simply does not move in those directions.
Worth investing in alternatives early and just continuing.
Safety bars are OK for me, but almost none of my gyms have them. -

I used to do split squats with very light weights. Balancing an olympic bar is a workout in itself.
