  • ^ do like that

  • Have done a similar photography walk to you in the past, a very interesting part of the Thames estuary with the Bata factory/housing and the fort etc.
there is also the tip spilling out onto the beach with wartime and older rubbish further along from the fake water tower.

  • Have done a similar photography walk

pictures, or it didn't happen 🙂

  • on a hard drive somewhere, can’t be arsed to go trawling though them all!?I know i had a Lumix with me as well as a canon with 24mm T-SE. the lumix i sold (to somebody on here) as i was on the hunt for a compact i liked and the lumix wasn’t it.
ended up with a sigma Merrell DP2

  • Nice! Would love to go back when the lights a bit less zingy. I did get a fair amount of shit from a security guard at the Bata factory for trying to get on the grounds. Have contacted the charity that looks after it and they do open days so will go back… it’s such a striking building - especially at the moment with all the yellow linseed fields in full blast all around it.

This is all made loads more complicated because I’m having to bring a 2 year old out with me these days, but that also keeps things entertaining.

This John Rogers video made me want to go there:

  • This Art Deco block of flats in Wanstead is pretty great. Love that era’s use of super bright green accents.

  • I know that block, it’s amazing. I live in a similar one but ours is knackered.

  • Bet yours isn’t as knackered as one of the new builds though :p

The entrance doors this place were pretty spectacular. It’s very… Wes Anderson.

  • Yeah, cracking spot

  • Didn't see the naked runner there then? We had our second sight of him in the woods.

  • good shit as always, especially like the aytan's one

you should make a photo book by the way

  • Cheers! Have thought about it but far too busy and also it wouldn’t really have a theme…

  • These are ace. Must be so much fun shooting that stuff… also totally nails photographing things moving that quick/appearing out of nowhere I imagine.

I remember a few years ago you were asking about 70-200 f4s for this stuff - did you go that route in the end?
    *sorry to talk about kit
