• Got round to installing the Smashpot last night, so far I'm impressed. Echoing what @TotalShanner said, it actually doesn't feel too dissimilar to a B1 airspring (based on a quick spin round the garden, nothing in anger yet) off the top, but the support once you hit the midstroke is brilliant. It feels supportive yet plush, love it.
What's really impressed me is the hydraulic bottom out. I managed to bottom the fork out just bouncing on it, only evidenced by the indicator ring, so added one click at time of HBO and you can actually see it working. Each click makes the sag indicator stop a little bit lower down the stanchion than before. No fuss, no noise, just works.
Can't wait to give it a proper ride soon

I had the exact same experience. When I done the obligatory ride up and down the garden, I was a bit worried that I'd picked the wrong spring, I could bottom out the fork just by bouncing on it. I dialled the HBO to about half way and it ramped up nicely.
