  • I might have been too tired to start with, but I wasn’t that into Drive My Car. Nodded off at one point. Looked great, the Saab is 💯 and the acting is great, but I think I just prefer reading Murakami.

  • Jackass Forever really is the most witless, unfunny crap I've seen in a long time. The forced laughter is even more forced, the pranks are all shit. Didn't even raise a smile. Dead.

I'd have been gutted if I'd gone to the cinema to watch it.

  • We went to a private screening of Nightmare Alley last night. i recalled that on watching the trailer last year, 'damn they must have cut the lighting budget'.. it was very atmospheric, daytime scenes wintry, unforgiving. Some parts reminded me of early Coen Brothers films like Barton Fink.

Bradley Cooper was great, GF spent most of the night hiding behind her popcorn..

If we ever get snowed in at home, I'm gonna introduce GF to the 1982 version of the 'The Thing' my favourite horror sci-fi ever

man is the warmest place to hide

  • @J0nathan 24x36 is on Sky Arts right now, if you are still trying to watch it (and have Sky, and are free right now)

  • Thanks for the flag and remembering dude! I just watched it on Amazon in the end. Loved it.

  • Finally managed to see this after it's release was delayed.
If you're of a nervous disposition, give it a miss!
Neil Maskell is truly menacing in the lead role.

  • Out of Sight on BBC 1 tonight, one to tape and enjoy next week

  • Watching Spider-Man no way home with my nephew.
Why is it so long? Why are so many of the shots CGI backgrounds? Why is the dialogue so awful? Why the fuck do people watch these films?

  • Any good? I read this recently and enjoyed it a lot. A truly mad story!

  • It was OK. Nothing new. Its all been seen before. That book is good, the film spends about five mins on the Illuminatus trilogy.

  • Fun innit, stop trying to make it a good film and enjoy it.

  • Just watched Belfast. Unbelievable that it won an Oscar. Utter am-dram dogshit.

  • I thought it was OK. Preferred it to power of the dog, but CODA was massively better than both. (as was licorice pizza IMO).

  • I've not seen Coda or Power Of The Dog, nobody in here seems to have anything positive to say about the latter so I'll probably give it a miss. Loved Licorice Pizza though.

  • Licorice Pizza was a bit of a miss for me. How many films did it want to be? Looked great though

  • A poor man's dead man's shoes. Man

  • I thought power of the dog was alright, I don't mind a slow western though, sepia deserts are chill.

  • Fresh was a good way to end my Disney subscription. Nothing spectacular but a good horror comedy that didn't feel to try hard.

The Harder they fall was a fucking terrible way to kick off my new Netflix subscription. Didn't last past the first 45 minutes. Great cast but found it unbearably cheesy/posey and the soundtrack (which i would normally like) really jarred. The Trip with that bloke from Headhunters was good enough to get over the disappointment.

  • Tonight’s viewing is Aliens on Disney+.

“Comin’ around for a seven zero niner”.

    God I love this shit.

Will have to dig out the ‘drone gun’ edition and watch that soon. I remember it being quite a different experience.

  • I saw Cow and Everything Everywhere All At Once last week.

The latter was absolutely wild and thoroughly enjoyable. The former made me cry multiple times and convinced me to stop eating dairy. Lol.

Have my tickets to see The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and The Northman on Friday and I CAN NOT WAIT. For both of them, but honestly I’m more excited for the Nic Cage film than I have been for any other film in recent memory.

  • And just left the cinema having watched Dual which I really enjoyed.

  • Ever watched the aptly named Slow West? More Kodi Smit-McPhee trudging action.

  • Yeah, I enjoyed it too. It definitely drags a bit in the middle but the ending was great.
