Cavapoo owners; got any photos and anecdotes? On the list for a couple of expected litters for about August time.

I can't upload photos, but my cavapoo is fucking brilliant. He's a wild little bastard, having spent most of his life with my ex, who believes training him is 'cramping his style', but he's got the biggest personality of any dog I've ever known. I still pay maintenance so I can see him every week.

Can anyone recommend a dentastick type chew for my pooch. He just eats them he’s got a mouth like a vice, I need something as a post walk treat that will last about 10-15 minutes

Deer antlers. They don't splinter or smell like bone and are pretty tough and good for gnawing on.

Buy him a back of cocks. You can get sections in different sizes. Without wanting to reveal too much about my private life, bull cocks take a fair bit of chewing.

Yak milk "chews"?
My little terrier likes them.
They are hard, and you can microwave little bits of them and they go like honeycomb (if your dog leaves the end, for example. My dog devours the whole thing in one dedicated session)I also have a bucket of Whimzee dental sticks, but they are pretty small and last about as long as a regular dentastick.
Or as Danb said, antlers.
Our old pup loved the split ones and could systematically gnaw through the good stuff (on a quarter or half split one)Also, if it is for oral hygiene, probably best getting a toothbrush too.

Worth pointing out that not all rawhide is equal. Lots of it has been rendered/fried and is extremely calorific. One rawhide treat can easily be 50% of your dog's calorific intake for the day (based on a 13kg whippet). Same goes for pigs ears and that sort of thing too.
Thos yak milk treats are pretty low fat but Otto is a lazy chewer so has never really shown an interest.

He’s tried the yaks milk ones before and like them. They last too long for an every day chew. If it’s a nice chew he trots around with it for ages before eating it

Braised lamb chews, nice but pricey.
Perfect for short chews -

Bully pizzle are my choice for now but even my little one somehow gets through it quicker than you'd think. Hoofs are good, especially if you smear some doggy pate inside, lasts ages but you just take it away after a while. I've tried tails but she's a moron and tries to swallow the bones whole. Likewise with tendon chews, she'll rip them in to then strips then try and swallow the whole thing at once and throw up.
I like all the stuff from JR Pet Products and trust them not to be selling things that are secretly bad for the dog. Got a tenner off referral code too -

I made an ice lolly for Bosco for the hot weekend, froze a few sprats in a ramakin of water.
He spent ages on it, was a success. -

Rabbit ears are the worst. Unless you like chasing your dog around while it has a turd swinging from its arse from a string of matted part-digested rabbit fur.

Bosco happily munches on rabbits ears, and his turds are not awful. (as far as dog shit is concerned)

Clearly your dog is much better at digesting rabbit ears than our dog :D
Otto loves them. Maybe I'll give them another go with him.

Ours likes the beef jerky from green & wilds - can be easily cut down to size to accomodate your dog. Goes bonkers for it.
Tried yaks milk, antler and various hard wood things all of which he will recreationally chew but only on occassion.

Careful of yak milk things - I read about them when ours was making horrible noises chewing one, and apparently smaller dogs can break teeth on them.

Isn't rawhide pretty bad for dogs in general? I remember reading that it was a by-product of the leather industry & had all sorts of nasty chemicals in it, or is there a "good" rawhide?

Always use the pizzle sticks with puppies as a distraction / focus treat. We stop using them once they have adult teeth because they just don't last very long beyond a certain point.
We get airdried venison shanks in multipacks and give her a fresh one if we ever leave her in the house for more than a couple of hours to keep her occupied.

The whole treats discussion continues to mystify me, I have quite simply never seen the need for them. Mine do get a Dentastix each twice a month as they do help, however, they're pretty fattening so not for everyday use unless you reduce their food.
