  • I’m told it’s really nice. I wonder if it might actually be a bit small (you’re shocked, I know). The case is 1mm smaller than the original 1960s design. Feels like they might have done a “pink and shrink” on it with the rose gold GS logo.

  • Checked out the recent King Seiko release at the weekend. Felt roughly Presage quality. They’re asking way too much for these.

Poor quality wrist shots for the Turkish barber bracelet fans.

  • Interesting! I was excited about these at first but it doesn't look very good on your 2nd picture

  • It didn't do a lot for me. It's thicker than it should be (which is obvious from the specs), although it wears ok, kind of. The movement is pretty meh. The end links don't really look great, so despite the bracelet otherwise being good, I think it might be better on a strap.

I think overall it just looked a bit "cheap shiny". A long way off a GS. The hands are the biggest let-down I think. They are polished on one half and matte on the other (edit: seems this is only on the darker dials, on the silver dials I think they're fully polished) and the finish was disappointing. The case finishing isn't as sharp as I was expecting either.

  • Just looked at the RRP on those King Seiko. £1500!
Drop the 1 off the front and I'd still look for a vintage KS.

  • It doesn't look like a winner.

  • Aside from the absurdly large bracelet (who even has wrists that are that large?), that really doesn't look like it sits well. The dial looks really cheap too.

  • The boutique lighting didn't do it any favours (when does it ever), but the sunray dial looked like one you'd expect on a £300 Seiko - nice, but didn't have the depth you'd want to see at this price. Also the markers have quite a lot going on, but again they did little to justify the RRP IMHO.

  • It doesn't look as nice as the Sharp edge which are popping up online for less than £800 now. This is my favourite £1500 red dial watch at the moment. I never knew the Turkish Barber bracelet was a thing but I'm a Barber and would find that really annoying as well as looking shit

  • In a strange coincidence, I was just looking at that very watch.

    But on a leather strap.

I am lining up a "dress" watch purchase in the future (by dress I mean non-dive watch)

Reckon the Golden Horse is on the short list, along side the Tudor 1926.

I'll probably change my mind when I have a "spare" £1500, and spend it on not a watch.

  • I never knew the Turkish Barber bracelet was a thing

Me neither, until a few people started saying it on here. Unsized bracelets on my 17cm wrist seem to attract the comment so I was pre-empting it.

Anyway, that's one of the nicer looking Rados I've seen.

  • If only it had a power reserve

    Amazing

  • heres one to trigger most of us...

I just need to know how someone could let that through?!

  • it's like the artists signature waiting for you in the bottom corner

  • That is/was often Zenith’s preferred solution. Love how far they leaned into it that they even moved the sub-seconds track over to the near side of the window surround. Super weird.

  • I am normally more forgiving than most on here for date windows, but fuck me, that is terrible.

  • Love how far they leaned into it that they even moved the sub-seconds track over to the near side of the window surround.

And yet they couldnt be arsed to turn the 8 to stand up straight.

  • it's like a track from Excitebike

  • Don't buy a leather strapped "dress" watch until I have secured my one swiss brand for the new store.
It's between two brands at the mo , both of which will have something to fit the bill.

  • Keep us informed mate. I have a dress watch slot.

  • Loving the vintage Seamaster 300 since a while, I had the opportunity to see/buy one recently, condition was correct, but not insane..

Surprisingly, it wasn’t a love at first sight (have to admit I didn’t liked that strap)
