Yeah proper capable, but so are other more exciting bikes. They’re considered a bit…nodder here now.
I’m sure they’re we’ll rapid, but from what a few people ive talked to said, it’s a bit of a no mans land bike. Toned down grunt and none of the protection of a gsxr.

Is the ZZR14 faster than the Busa?
-
• #20504
You mean, which will be better to safely overtake at 180 with more to spare just in case?
-
• #20505
Er, yes. What with the ZZR being so much younger than the Hayabusa, maybe it has an even bigger safety margin? For overtaking high speed trains and such.

You miss typed 120kph ;)

Surely the reason why the French put the Eurostar track parallel to the Autoroute is to give the train drivers something to race.

zzr has 100cc bigger engine and for such small engines even that 100 is quite a big percentage increase, the power increase would be too
any review i've read about the zzr1400 has specifically mentioned the engine and it being the quickest thing they'd ever experienced !
add a corbyn comfy seat and some less racy footpegs and it might be good for a razz down to the south of france ?i'll check out the duke multistrada
the old honda vfr800 used to be a nice machine, it's looks have gone a bit minging in recent years though, ( actually just had a look at the most recent model and it doesn't look terrible ) they're a bit more touring oriented aren't they
the GSX-S1000FZ doesn't look like you could hang any paniers of it anywhere looks like it's got more of a sporty tail

although looking at the cbr600 on the last couple of pages, quite tempted just to get another early 2000's cbr600fx or 1st gen Fuel Injected model CBR FI , had one of each model and they were really great bikes quick enough if hustled and could do 400 miles a day without killing your back legs neck too much, i'll be trying to keep pace with my mate on modern BMW GS1200 in the future who's been riding for 30+ year so not sure how fast i'll need to be !

If getting an FI the fueling is poor and benefit from a dyno mapping session.
Ok my advice on group ride touring is go at your own pace, do not feel that you have to keep up. Make sure you are hydrated and keep concentration up. Also occasionally slow down and look at the scenery.

Being 185cm, the best touring bike is an adventure/bike supermoto. So comf, leg room for days and nice hip angle. Obviously still not a 5 series touring. I say this having owned a black bird, just wasn't that comfy for me

Looking for a new town and country bike, mainly suburban miles and Essex lanes. I’m about to put a deposit on a new Moto Guzzi V7 850 stone. Anyone got a good reason why I shouldn’t?
Caveats
29” inseam
Idiot when given too much power, wife has banned anything too exciting so looking at bikes with character
Want a simple bike that’s easy to maintain so shafts appeal to my slovenly nature
Spray with soap, hose it down and dry with a leaf blower is about as much as I want to do as a regular routine. Tend to spray down with silicone spray every few months too. -

Bikesure were having massive tech issues this morning. Took nearly an hour and a half for a 5 minute and £30 bike swap on the multi-bike policy.
Carbs definitely need looking at, some weird fuelling at times. However it had old fuel and E10 plopped on top so I’m surprised it went as well as it did.
Managed to burn through about 9 litres as quickly as possible to put some E5 Shell on top. After a few Liqui Moly shooters I would expect it to run much nicer.
All the same, totally in love with it. Stopped for a swift shandy at Avebury and had my first swoon from both the husband and the wife who were cooing over it.

Good advice ESPECIALLY ‘do not feel you have to keep up’. I’ve seen the bad side of this and no one wants to be a witness to that.

• #20515
Noooo. Wait for the new v100. So very pretty.

group touring
And everyone should have a map and a plan B of somewhere to meet if you get split up.
-
• #20517
And keep your distance between riders because something can and will happen and you need your margin.

My advice is easy to read, and a repeat of many others. Now following the advice can be hard, and I speak from personal experience.
Rather that you all were still on here and interacting rather than anything happening to you. Stay safe.

Not simple
Probably spendy
Probably waiting list -

Um...across the frame v twin. What is not to like?
Have you sat on one? The cylinders are slightly off set so one knee may come in contact with a cylinder head which some find annoying and needing rear sets to find a comfortable position.
-
• #20521
Yes I have, gentle rock to the right with the throttle and being short of leg means no knee contact with the left side (rear offset) cylinder head

• #20522
It’s a costly lesson to learn. I’ve seen it a couple of times and would rather forget.

Perfect. Only think better than a guzzi is a Laverda.

That is almost justification for a Motorbike Porn Thread because that’s all it is! Yet another lottery win bike - in my long list.
