  • @El_Topo The cream looks in pretty good condition, were you planning on just splattering over the top of it rather then a whole new paintjob?

  • Cream is in really good condition yes! And exactly, just splatter job on top. Any tips/recommendations ?

  • If you’re doing multiple colours I’d let one dry (at least partially) before doing the next.

Maybe do a bit of practice to figure out how you’ll get the splatters you like.

I generally use a bit of some kind of plastic card, like an old back card. Cut into strips. Dip and flick.

Whipping the card at the frame tends to make heavier splatters. Pinging the card at the frame makes finer splatters but you can get a bit of splash back so be appropriately dressed.

A brush like a toothbrush or brass brush for cleaning suede shoes can do more of a fine spray, bit more consistent than splatter.

There’s also a sort of sponging technique you can do with cling film. Wad it up, spray paint on it and dab on the frame.

And Montana do a limited no of colours of ‘marble’ paint that come out the can all stringy.

    Green cinelli was brass brush.

Pink and turquoise was wiping and flicking a card.

Orange and black is orange base with black marble over.

Green and black bmx is the dabbing cling film technique.
