Nice one!

When we saw the paint job, we all knew what was going to happen.

• #20479
How dare you all, I'm not predictable in the slightest!

Looks great. Health to ride. Bet the exhaust note is sweet and loud!
-
• #20481
So the bird has gone?
You now need matching leathers and matching shell suit.
GO GO POWER RANGERS

• #20482
@TGR he put the baffle back in for the MOT, so it wasn’t quite as deafening as I’d feared. OEM exhaust is stored somewhere, he’ll dig it out for me if he can.
@lynx yep! Bird sold this afternoon to a guy who is also a customer at my mechanics, so it’ll stay in the family so to speak.
Re: Power Rangers… way ahead of you!

Last weekend I tried to stretch the leather pants around my cyclist thighs.

YESSSSSS DUUUUUUDE! That's the shiz! I've really gotta rebuild my CBR (Castrol colours) at some point.
Very psyched for you. -

It's certainly not luck that you keep finding these great bikes. I'm already looking forward to hearing how you get on with the performance.

options for a blisteringly quick tourer ? blackbird hyabusa zzr1400
what other options should be considered ?
-
• #20487
Yep that’s the three, but the ‘busa is least comfortable. FI Blackbird all the way. 1400 will be too naughty.
My mechanic has the 1400, he gets mid-20’s mpg.

Probably the K1600 is a bit too big but 6 cylinder engine and apparently quite lively, 160hp but 300kgs.
A friend had the ZZR, said it is the fastest bike he'd ever ridden and he's had a few. He decided he didn't need to get anywhere that fast.

That looks astonishingly clean. What's the mileage on it?
-
• #20493
GXS-S1000 or whatever they call them? New but cheap and supposed to be great.
-
• #20494
Looks great! Should be able to get a smooth and reliable 90 something ponies. Best of all, you can set them up to handle great. I think it’s super cool.

@Chak 17k … bought from a guy near Bath a few years ago and then barely used by the guy’s mrs. He has a carb’d Blackbird and she wanted a mini version.
@jung I’m banned from fitting straight drag bars. Otherwise I’m tempted to fit a steering damper maybe. No doubt I get very naughty very quickly on a ‘small’ bike like this.
Very excited though.

• #20497
Haha, really? This one? 150hp, K5 architecture. I'd have a tour on one.

@pdlouche - Leave the bars alone, they're comfy bikes. It's 20+ years since I rode one but I definitely don't recall them needing a steering damper either, so maybe save your cash for a nice Nitron rear shock and a fork rebuild.

If your leathers don't match your bikes colour scheme, are you a biker?
-
• #20499
Find me the colourway for less than £40 in size UK40, and I’m there.
Tbh I can no longer just swap jackets and feign it was a different biker driving like a cock. With a huge gash 90’s livery I might as well just have my name on my back.

fork revalve or cartridge for the forks.
But I found the 2000 bike really good and still one that wanted me to break every speed limit.
Guess who’s in love?
Insurers were closed already so gotta sort it all on Saturday AM.
