Why rule out the most efficient way?

There is an overnight ferry from Liverpool, departs around 9 and arrives at 5am. Unsure if it would have come up as it's a lot longer than leaving from Holyhead.
Should be a couple of hours on the train + 20min taxi to the port.

Any advice on getting from London to Dublin efficiently without flying?
National Express don't seem to be running it, no other coaches. Seems a bit unbelievable, maybe I just don't know how to search.
Train-train-(train)-ferry is an option but really slow and no easy overnight option, all the times seem to involve some 2 hour 4am changeover. Basically trying to work out of I can get a day there without spending the entire working day either side travelling.
Ok the train line has given me 8-9h train-ferry options but only if I leave London before 11am.
