  • get kickr if you want kickr climb otherwise they are all pretty much same, neo folds down quite slim

  • Anyone want a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine?free to a good home.

It’s in good working order, but has some surface corrosion from living in the shed for a bit. Purely cosmetic.

    Pickup from Hither Green.

    • This is now provisionally gone, pending collection.

  • I don't know version specifics. I have both and I prefer my KICKRv4 I think it is over the Neo 2.

The KICKR ramps into intervals much nicer and doesn't do that zero watts freewheel shit the Neo does.

    Also, who designed this shit?

  • Great trainer that. I've kept mine for when I can't afford electricity to power my smart trainer anymore

  • Yep, I’ve got another one as a spare too

  • Everyone laughed at my Computrainer and then lockdown happened.

Then they laughed at my JetFluid and the elec wars happened.

    ...

  • You should be able to get a spacer from Tacx to stop that rubbing. DBAD!

  • rly? i thought they were snake oil ..

They mask problems that can be solved by other means (finding the right saddle/setup).

But if you've never found the right saddle/setup then chamois creams can get you through what you may not be able to suffer otherwise.

(And then some people just can't do rides longer than 1h without chamois cream regardless of what they do.)

  • Thanks. What does it move? If you move the rear end the cassette will be out of tune

Oh, it just pushes the triangle open: https://tacxfaqx.com/knowledge-base/neo-disc-brake-spacer/

  • There's a very thin 2.5 ish mm spacer in the box but it doesn't look as beefy as the one this site shows...

The one I have is maybe 1mm thick. Presume it will still work just looks weaker

  • The Tacx Neo runs without needing to be plugged in.

Sometimes useful for people who race/TT/hill climb, you can take the Neo with you, set up and it folds pretty compact also.

  • Right saddle/setup/bib shorts.
I find that I get numbness well before any friction related issues, but do use for spot/saddle sore prevention.

  • I used it when I got into Audax as I saw many others talking about it. Then I forgot one day and did a 200k without it, and nothing bad happened, never used it since.

For rides like LEL and PBP I just switched shorts each day and made sure that whole area was clean (baby-wipes if I couldn't get a proper shower). The last day of LEL I wore two pairs of shorts (since it was mostly the flatlands and I was on fixed).

(I'm also odd in that I don't go commando in cycling shorts. Again, I've never had any specific gooch problems on multi-day rides, but then I've only ever gone up to 1400km and never anything like TABR or TCR.)

(But I do understand people do have problems and so it may be necessary. But the whole 'you must otherwise' I don't believe in since I'm a single datapoint that proves otherwise.)

  • Thinking about moving on my Kickr V2 but can’t find any recent sales to get a ballpark price, any suggestions for the going rate?

  • Wahoo have bought RGT, a Zwift-a-like, and added it to SYSTM for no extra cost, which is a pleasant surprise. Fills a gap in SYSTM for that quick hop on the trainer style ride.

  • Anyone used Wahoo SYSTM/X and got an opinion? Seems actually fairly good value for an annual subscription from what I can see.

  • Before the baby arrived I was a big fan of the plans and structure, and the sessions themselves are varied and fun, especially the pro races ... what I've since found missing is rides you can do ad-hoc outside of plans when you wake up at 6am and have some free time. I'm hoping this update addresses that.

  • Forum approved small, powerful but portable fan?

  • Are there any decent non-subscription based smart trainer ERG workout players for android? No ads, happy to pay with money. I'm using trainer road, but just as a workout library + player it feels a bit expensive.

I think a player app, scripting my own workouts, recording with garmin and looking at numbers and curves in intervals.icu would work just fine for me. Golden cheetah has an ERG mode workout player, but I had massive issues with bluetooth pairing, and using a phone would anyway be more convenient.

  • jesus, man, the patter on wahoo SYSTM is absolutely chronic. I had to give up using it after 4-5 sessions because I just couldn't put up with its pish. give me the po-faced sincerity of trainerroad any day

  • It can be a bit much, but nowadays it is mainly the Sufferfest vids. I really enjoy the pro-rides and the On Location vids too.

  • Vacmaster saving the day today..

  • Zwift were fibbing a bit when they said they had abandoned hardware development; they rebranded an existing trainer upgraded it and halved the price. £449 with a cassette of your choice

  • Good idea with the dropout measuring cards.
